he Cosmelan peel is a depigmentation treatment used to lighten dark spots on the face and improve the overall tone and texture of the skin. It is a five-phase treatment that combines a professional in-office treatment with at-home care.
Step I: Consultation:
Consultation takes place in person or virtually with our medical provider. During the consultation, we will review your medical history to rule out any contraindications. We also explain in detail the procedure, give pre and post-treatment instructions and answer your questions.
Step II: Preparation (2-4 weeks prior)
In this phase, you will need to use a prescribed skin lightening cream to help prepare your skin for the peel. This helps to increase the effectiveness of the treatment and reduce the risk of side effects.
Step III: In-office treatment
During the in-office treatment, we will apply the Cosmelan mask to your face. The mask contains a combination of ingredients that work to lighten dark spots, including kojic acid, azelaic acid, and hydroquinone. The mask will be left on your face for 8-12 hours, depending on your skin type and the severity of your hyperpigmentation. The mask should be removed after time elapsed.
We will provide you aftercare kit and instruct you on how to remove the mask at home.
Step IV: Home Care
After the mask is removed, you will need to follow a strict post-peel care regimen. This will typically involve using a gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. You will also need to avoid sun exposure as much as possible, as this can worsen hyperpigmentation.
Step V: Post-treatment
We will see you 4 weeks after the initial treatment. We evaluate your skin response and possibly reapply the peel on more stubborn areas of pigmentation.
Once you have completed the Cosmelan peel treatment, it is important to continue using a daily sunscreen and a gentle skin care routine to help maintain your results and prevent future hyperpigmentation.

When will I see the result?
The result ( sun damage shedding, discoloration, peeling) is noticeable by two weeks after initial treatment. The total result is after complete treatment, which is between 4-6 weeks when we do touch up.
